We don't care who you are.

We don't care about the color of your skin. We don't care about who you love. We don't care about your tats and piercings. We don't care how old you are. We don't care about your background or addictions. We don't care about your beliefs.  We care about you, because Jesus cares about you.

people don't LIKES CHRISTIANS.

It's a fact in the 21st century. And less and less people are going to church, and new attendees are few and far between. Way too many people who label themselves as Christians are pointing fingers at people telling them they are sinners be cause of any one of a dozen sins people are doing and condemning them. We follow Jesus, and we don't even like what they're doing. In fact,we're sick and tired of the whole church thing.

That said, I think it's important to try to understand why Christians act the way they do, and learn the long history of the Church that brought us to this quagmire.  But the truth of being a Christian (follower of Jesus) is to act like Him.

We are Red Letter People.
We are trying to be disciples of Jesus.

The words of Jesus are highlighted in most bibles in red. This is the time to show what the Church as defined by Jesus is: Disciples of Jesus.

The definition of being a disciple is to study their rabbi/teacher, and then be like them.  We want to think and act like Jesus. We study Jesus so we can be like him, act like him, and love like him. That means we are to love everyone, especially those who need to be loved.

We are not called to be church members. We are not called to be doctrinal or political disciples. We are all called to follow and act like Jesus.  So what does that look like?

It looks like this: we study the words and actions of Jesus.

We feed the hungry, heal the sick, and clothe the naked. We are compassionate to all.

Jesus hung out with the poor, the sick, the sinners, and the tax collectors- the least, the last, the lost, and the lonely.

The religious leaders are the ones He railed against. Let's not be like them.

We are on a journey to attempt to go against the grain, and have discussions with people in Knoxville to talk through how we got here and what people can do to get back to basics, which is to love everyone you meet, be discipled and help others. Not in a church building, but in a coffee shop, a house or a barn. To build relationships not just with others on the journey, but to listen and talk to others who don't want to be a part of a hypocritical church, but learn about who this Jesus guy is.

We are NOT starting a church.

We are starting a mission. Read the Book of Acts, and you'll see people meeting at homes, coffee shops, restaurants, parks, and helping each other learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
